Spring 2005

All current Chemistry 0310 (Organic Chemistry I), Chemistry 0320 (Organic Chemistry II), and Chem 0740 (UHC Organic Chemistry II) students are now enrolled in a new Blackboard Organization (http://courseweb.pitt.edu)

The purpose of this course site is to provide both Real-Time, On-Line Organic Chemistry tutoring and asynchronous Discussion Boards for Each Course.  At this site, from 9:00pm-11:00pm Sunday through Thursday evenings, you can have chat and drawing-based interactions with Organic TAs who will be able to answer your Organic Chemistry lecture or lab questions.  Alternatively and at any time, you can post your questions and provide your answers to posted questions, on the Discussion Board, especially when the tutors are not available on-line.

Also under the Announcement section of the above course site you will find a link to the instructions and necessary form that will allow you to borrow, free of charge, for the remainder of the semester, a graphics tablet for your computer that greatly facilitates the on-line tutoring interaction.  Please note, it is not necessary to have a drawing tablet to participate, an ordinary mouse works or you can have a text-only conversation.

Contact your lecturer or Prof. Grabowski (joeg@pitt.edu) for additional information
or visit this web site, http://chemed.chem.pitt.edu/joeg/page_33.html,  for archival records on this project.

This project was initially funded by the Instructional Technology Working Group (ITWG) of the Executive Committee on Academic Computing (ECAC) of the University of Pittsburgh, 1 July 1999 -- 30 June 2000.
