This page explains how Pitt students and faculty are to download and install CAChe onto their local machine. Before downloading and installing CAChe please review the system requirements. Please note that the download size is substantial, so the aquisition of this software may require a broadband internet connection.
Step 1

First things first, navigate to http://software.pitt.edu. This is the University's Electronic Software Distrubtion webpage.

After the page finishes loading, click the blue botton labeled "CONNECT".

Enter your Pitt username and password into this window, then click "ok":

Step 2

After clicking the "CONNECT" button you will be brought to the Search CSSD Downloads page. Simply select "Chemistry" from the drop-down menu labeled "All Catergories":

Click the "Go" button.
Step 3

Click the link labeled "CAChe" that is under the "title" column and next to "6.1.10", as the newest version of CAChe is version 6.1.10:

Depending on your internet connection, click the corresponding download method. Note that selecting "Download in Larger Segments" is easier as there are only two files required to download. Selecting "Download in Smaller Segments" will require downloading sixteen smaller files to install CAChe:

   | Click each file required and you will be prompted to save the files to your hard drive. Regardless of which download method you have selected, save all the files (two for broadband or sixteen for slower connections) to a location (folder) on your computer you will remember (ex. "C:\download"). It is VITAL that you download all the files into the same folder: |
