PROJECT TITLE:            Virtual Mass Spectrometry Laboratory

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE:     Science major, with willingness to learn and do mass spectrometry.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:      The research assistant will be responsible for designing and testing protocols, collecting GC-MS data on one of several departmental instruments, and documenting and archiving data collected.  The data will be incorporated into the web-based, anytime/anywhere teaching tool called Virtual Mass Spectrometry Laboratory  (See :  http://svmsl.chem.cmu.edu).

 

HOURS:                            Flexible, but minimum of 75 hours per credit hour per term (i.e., 5 hours per week during Fall or Spring terms).

 

STARTING DATE:          Flexible.

 

APPLICATION:               Apply anytime - positions are available every term as this is a continuing project.

 

RENUMERATION:         1 credit hour of Chem 1710 per 75 hours of laboratory work.
