Project Title:  Enhanced Chemistry Education via 3D Projection

Description:    In the Fall of 2001 the Chemistry department initiated a project to provide the hardware to allow 3D projection to be used to augment chemical instruction.  We now have two systems in play, a permanentlly installed system in CSC12B and a portable system that can wheeled into any classroom.  We are in need of one or two undergraduates per term, who are interested in technology, teaching, and/or chemical education to help:  (1) implement the system in any lecture for any faculty member (includes preparing materials, assisting the faculty member in the design of the lecture, and running the system for the faculty member during the lecture); (2) Updating the hardware and software (e.g., installing CAChe on the projection computers to replace/augment DesignView; installing GeoWall and other 3D projection software; tweaking the hardware to make it ever simpler and more robust; etc.) and (3) Creating and maintaining a web site of popular materials to be used to augment standard chemsitry lecture  classes.
