Undergraduate Programmer

 

to work with 

Prof. Joseph Grabowski, Department of Chemistry, University of Pittsburgh

and

Dr. Mark Bier, Department of Chemistry, Carnegie Mellon University

 

PROJECT TITLE:            Virtual Mass Spectrometry Laboratory

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE:     Chemistry or computer science major with knowledge of Java programming language, and with strong interest in the use of the Web for Education.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:      The ideal candidate will responsible for programming Java servlets that interface the client's browser to a SQL Server 7 database of archived experiments.  First generation servlets already exist and next generation servlets are expected to modifications only of the existing servlets.  Contact Prof. Grabowski (joeg@pitt.edu) for additional details.

 

HOURS:                            Fall 2000 and Spring 2001, total of 400 hours.
