
MSDG Meeting August 28, 2003
Thursday, @ 6:00pm at the PittCon offices in Penn Center
Attendees: Mark Bier, Kasi Somayajula, Brian Walsh
The purpose of the meeting was to develop an agenda for the coming year. The
following topics were discussed as possibilities:
- A one day class on Bioinformatics in November
- A session on mass spec applications in Forensics and Bio-terrorism type
analyses, etc. in February
- A one day session on inorganic mass spec analysis such as laser ablation ICPMS, isotopic analysis as applied to geochemical / archeological dating such
as C-14, etc. in May
- A dinner meeting and lab tour such as Neogen sometime during the year
- A dinner meeting with a 10-15 minute presentation by some of the members on a
mass spec topic of current interest.
Kasi is already working on getting a speaker for the Bioinformatics class.
If you would be interested in taking the lead to make arrangements for any of
these, or any other topic, please let me know.
